Bai, Y., Wu, C., Zhao, J., Liu, Y. H., Ding, W., & Ling, W. L. W. (2011). Role of iron and sodium citrate in animal proteināfree CHO cell culture medium on cell growth and monoclonal antibody production. Biotechnology progress, 27(1), 209-219. In this study, chemically defined iron compounds were investigated for the development of animal protein-free cell culture media to support growth of CHO cells and production of monoclonal antibodies (mAb). The data demonstrated that iron and citrate combination significantly enhanced mAb production without altering product quality and suggested these compounds had a role in upregulating the protein synthetic machinery to promote protein production. The cells were cultured in in-house chemically defined proprietary feed media, CDFM-2 and AAFM. The precise formulation of these media are proprietary. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1002/btpr.513 |
